I started my new job this week- SO EXCITED TO BE WORKING AGAIN. I felt so useless without a job, I guess that’s a side effect of having been employed basically ever since I was 14 hah!
This week is also coincidentally finals week (my university has a weiiiiiird schedule so yes, it’s finals when everyone else is having midterms).
I got sick. Again. I’m starting to think there’s something seriously wrong with my immune system. I’m nearly better though.
I have 2 papers to write by Sunday (I’m in the midst of one of them now) and I have not worked out in over a week. There is not enough coffee in all of Europe to satisfy me at the moment.
So, so very excited for this session (2 sessions per semester.. boring you yet with my random school details?) to be over so I can get myself back into a good routine, which will hopefully help my health.
TONE IT UP!! Any of my followers fellow TIU girls? I bought the plan a while back & never really got on board with it fully. Welps, a whole lot is going on at the moment, including the new updated Community! & hopefully an app soon! I’m intrigued & excited about these new developments, so I will be throwing myself back into the Community as soon as it’s up & running, & reading over my diet plan so I can get myself revved up over it again :)
A friend of mine suggested I try going sans dairy for a while to see if it would improve my health. My mom and one of my sisters are lactose intolerant, and while I don’t have the most obvious lactose-intolerant-sympoms (vomiting, potty-related-problems, upset stomach, etc.), I do get stuffed up and mucus-ey pretty often. I love almond and soy milk so I don’t see giving up milk to be an issue. I don’t eat cheese super often so that’s not a problem either. What I don’t see myself being able to live without is my Chobani. I. love. my. Chobz. All Greek yogurt really, but I’m kind of on a Chobani kick at the moment. I keep telling myself it’s only temporary (for now), to see if it makes any difference, but I keep putting this experiment off.
I only have two cups left in my fridge right now though, so I guess I’ll have no choice but to start when I finish them off. :(
Does anyone else get sick the instant anyone who isn’t the epitome of health breathes on you? I can’t be the only one. I’ve been sick all but 2 weeks MAX of 2012. Haven’t been able to do cardio, but I’ve been doing my arm & leg/butt circuits as often as possible, sometimes some abs. Not much else to report!
This past weekend has been the swallowing-daggars type of sick, so there was a lot of soup and ice cream. Okay, not much soup, but lots of ice cream. I do not regret it one bit. ;)
NSV: The boyfriend asked if I’ve been doing pushups lately, cause my arms & shoulders are looking more toned! He thought I only did cardio, I’m so excited that my random strength training is making a difference, it motivates me to do it even more!!
Well.. I’m using the term “survived” loosely. Got my ass handed to me is more like it, but I loved it! Can’t wait to go back next week.
Yesterday did a short arm circuit, followed by a leg & butt circuit.
15 bicep curls
15 lunges (each leg)
25 fire hydrants (each leg)
Last week Thursday & Friday went snowboarding in Garmisch, Germany. I came home exhilarated, worn out, & black & blue all over! It was only my second time, but I’m so, so much better than I was last year. I didn’t want to come home because I was having so much fun! By Saturday it was nearly impossible to even get out of bed to pee though, so I guess the decision was made for me.
Took Saturday & Sunday as recovery days, Monday & Tuesday (yesterday) I got on the treadmill for some painful running eased with lots of walking. Whoo! My knees are still pretty sore from snowboarding (I’m assuming) but I’m glad to be running again, and NOT BEING SICK ANYMORE. Before bed last night did a short Tara Stiles yoga video. I want to get back into doing yoga daily, even if it’s just a short video here & there.
Walked and ran for a total of 3.05 miles in 40 minutes.
Then did a short circuit:
30 sec mountain climber (1 round did pushups instead)
The entire time I was trying to prevent snot from dripping out of my nose, and feeling mucus block my throat. I sure know how to paint a pretty picture don’t I? Thank goodness I had the Bachelor to distract me. BEN YOU IDIOT COURTNEY IS EVIL

Did the TIU Valentines Workout + POP Pilates Long Lean Legs Workout last night, and I’m not as sore today as I expected.. based on how bad I was shaking while I was doing them! I’m going to contribute that to the fact that I had to stop like 5x during the POP video. SO. KILLER. Wow I’m weak.
Still sick btw, it’s been over a month now. Finally bucked up and went to the doctors, it was pretty hilarious using my broken German and their limited English, but I think it was pretty successful. Hopefully they can tell me what’s wrong with me so I can really get back into working out! For now I’m trying to just ease back into an easy regimen. Strength training 3x a week, cardio 3x a week. Nothing insane, just something.
POP Pilates: Long Lean Legs Workout!
I’ve been sick ever since I got home from Australia nearly a month ago!! As a result, I’ve only worked out twice. I’ve been working on intuitive eating so I feel pretty good, but I’m having endorphin-withdrawls or something. Rahhhh
